Author: Virginia State delegate Bob Marshall is heading a personal crusade to change the time honored slogan the Department of Tourism came up with years ago, “Virginia is for Lovers” to the more appropriate ”Virginia is for Haters”. “Don’t mess with Texas” can be seen on bumper stickers and tee shirts throughout the State and the nation. Texas loves to cultivate its image of a rough and tumble of independent mavericks. Someone should tell officers of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) not to take the slogan literally. During an incident at a gay club in Fort Worth a TABC officer assaulted a patron who had allegedly groped him. Now the City has decided to prosecute the patron. Read the rest of this entry »

Antiquated laws are a part of the American political and legal landscape. And for the most part are laughable to the point of absurdity. However in California one antiquated law in particular is no laughing matter. Apparently THE only problem the State legislation of New Hampshire has to debate are the merits of anal sex. Or at least that seems to be the case in Representative Nancy Elliot’s small corner of the State capital.
