Kink Friendly Law

Virginia State delegate Bob Marshall is heading a personal crusade to change the time honored slogan the Department of Tourism came up with years ago, “Virginia is for Lovers” to the more appropriate ”Virginia is for Haters”. Or at least in Bob Marshall’s twisted little world. Marshall claims that children born with disabilities are  God’s curse on the mother for having an abortion.Marshall made that statement at a press conference outlining his opposition to State funding for planned parenthood. In typical right wing fashion Marshall distorted the facts in a strategy designed to scare voters. By falsely claiming planned parenthood  receives about Five Hundred Thousand ($500.00.00) dollars when in fact the organization received a mere Thirty-five Thousand ($35,00.00) dollars in the 2009 fiscal year.

Marshall was gracious enough to inform his listeners that because all first borne belong to the Lord any child born after an abortion so displeases God that He punishes the child by striking it down with disabilities.  Marshall’s little world isn’t only twisted but decidedly Old Testament in its beliefs.

I never cease to be amazed at the depths anti-abortion foes will sink while attempting to force others to accept their position. I’m hopeful the voters of Manassas Virginia will come to their collective senses and give Marshall the boot; but then, they did actually vote him into office!
