The South Bend Tribune is so homophobic that the paper made an editorial decision not to print same-sex engagement announcements.  When Mary Ponterio and Linda Bentz wanted to announce their engagement they were given the “cold shoulder”. Read the rest of this entry »

As if the economy wasn’t enough to make a family re-think there plans for a summer family vacation. The major airlines have just weighed in with another reason;  by adding a surcharge they euphemistically call a “peak travel day” charge. Ranging from between Ten to Thirty dollars depending on the day of week one travels. Read the rest of this entry »

America has produced some amazing individuals who have made a variety of fantastic contributions. Which used to be be celebrated in our county, along with a proud national ownership of the maverick spirit. We celebrated the cowboy, the rugged individual who lived by a code, was responsible for their own actions and protected the underdog. Read the rest of this entry »

It sickens me reading all the absurd opinions wafting out of Hollywood regarding Roman Polanski that attempt to justify his behavior, downplay his actions or to even say that because of his age, the fact that he’s married and has grandchildren hes not a danger. WTF?

Recently, I was at my quarterly appointment with my Infectious Disease Doctor who is primarily responsible for treating my HIV. I was asking about a new delivery system for a drug I take called NORVIR which is a protease inhibitor which makes my other two anti-virals more effective. The current delivery system for NORVIR is a gelatin capsule which requires refrigeration and tends to cause or exacerbate stomach problems. The new system will not require either refrigeration nor will it be a gelatin capsule. Read the rest of this entry »

Normally what I’m about to do is so completely out of character, people who know me well would doubt the authenticity of this post and even my awareness of its existence. But this is an organization that I feel strongly about and am willing to step outside my comfort zone and support them.

A dear friend, Lady HotchKiss, sent me the link to Change.org today and since then I have latterly spent the past several hours immersed in their website. I was utterly blown away that in this day and age of unrivaled complacency and personal apathy that such a group would even exist, let alone have so many active and vibrant members.
I urge anyone with a compassionate heart to take a few minutes of their time during this NEW YEAR and to go to Change.org’s website, read what they are all about and if your as moved as I was, to join.

Credentials

Some readers may notice that I have edited my information, sadly I have been forced to this decision by personal circumstances.

I’m an attorney licensed in the State of Georgia and have been actively practicing since 1997, exclusively in the area of criminal law. Currently I’m an Assistant District Attorney working in a small rural judicial circuit.

Also, I am profoundly dyslexic (so get past any imperfections in language) and clinically depressed.
