Author: Kinky Americans, are not the only sexually adventurous types to need to heed the old adage, “don’t try this at home!” Recently a UK kinkster, after consuming seven (7) pints of lager and one vodka & coke, decided the sure fire way to sexual self-gratification was once he’d return home, to remove his clothing, tie himself naked to a tree and for the coup de grace, tie a loop around his penis. Sometime during the cold evening, probably after reality reared its ugly head, he realized that his self-bondage wasn’t the best idea. This past weekend I spent time at the ProDom convention called DomCon. Which is a convention primarily for professional Dommes, and the submissive men they attract. I had the opportunity to volunteer, to participate as a demo bottom, to eat, play and learn all things FemDom. It was a magnificent time.
Thursday all the classes and activities are geared towards professionals. With classes on business, marketing and even pampering and revitalizing oneself. There is also a social and Mistress dinner, allowing ample time for the ladies to network and learn from each other.
Friday the classes again were geared towards pros and lifestyle dommes with skills classes and discussion groups. Focusing on areas of interest to the dommes and their clients and personal slaves or submissives.
This convention also has a large vendor area where both local, regional and national vendors have tables full of merchandise geared towards BDSM. A stroll through the vendor area was a very exciting venture allowing one to look, touch and try out a wide variety of whips, floggers, canes and many more interesting and unusual items. As at most lifestyle conventions everyone is more than willing to talk and teach to all who are open to learning.
Friday night also consisted of a play party at an area dungeon. The Friday night play party isn’t the crowed packed even the Saturday night party is. The party Friday had a very high level of energy and allowed the party goers to see some very memorable scenes.
Saturday offered much the same, more classes, demos and a much anticipated play party in the evening. The attendance on Saturday and Sunday also included the addition of many male submissives, some local and many from out of state; drawn to this gathering of female power.
The weekend also had a national leather contest and an amazing selection of local and regional boot-blacks eager to clean and polish all things leather.
For me personally DomCon gave me a chance to see and catch up with local friends, Domina Dea and Nikita the Writer, to have the pleasure of assisting Dea as her demo bottom and allowing me to meet and get to know other out-of-state dommes. I had the great pleasure to lunch with Mistress X from Houston, Texas and to enjoy dinner with CharlyB, a nationally know “rope rigger” from Los Angeles.
For anyone seriously interested or even mildly curious in female domination, power exchanges or female lead relationships I encourage you if you ever have the opportunity to attend a DomCon that you take a chance and come and enjoy, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
