As a prosecutor working exclusively in juvenile court I handle a fair number of cases arising from incidents that either occurred at school or some action at school caused a problem outside school. Which is logical since children spend a great deal of time being transported to and from school, during the school day and involved in extracurricular activities. The Atlanta Eagle was raided by elements of the Atlanta Police Department, including patrolmen, undercover officers and members of “Red Dog” a specialized drug unit last September and is finally getting some closure. Roman Polanski a fugitive from justice since he ran away prior to sentencing in 1978 for having sex with a CHILD. Will escape justice yet again. Swiss authorities have declined to extradite him to the United States. Switzerland is apparently the new France. Read the rest of this entry »
Imagine the horror and shame teenager Tina Anderson felt after being raped by a member of her church, not once BUT twice. When Anderson became pregnant after the second rape she came forward and told her mother; who in turn told their church pastor. Read the rest of this entry »
One of the most contested and debated legal issues is the death penalty with rabid supporters on both sides of this emotionally charged issue. “Don’t mess with Texas” can be seen on bumper stickers and tee shirts throughout the State and the nation. Texas loves to cultivate its image of a rough and tumble of independent mavericks. Someone should tell officers of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) not to take the slogan literally. During an incident at a gay club in Fort Worth a TABC officer assaulted a patron who had allegedly groped him. Now the City has decided to prosecute the patron. Read the rest of this entry »
In Louisiana being caught preforming ORAL or ANAL sex is not only a crime, but a felony which upon conviction will also land you on the sex offender’s registry; regardless of whether or not the sex is consensual.
