Domestic Violence or DV as its referred to by police and prosecutors is a serious problem nation wide as well as locally. A very serious problem! And my post will not attempt to justify or excuse anyone involved in an abusive relationship. But sometimes good intentions, and the overarching desire to protect the public can get in the way of common sense. Hmmm, common sense being involved in the decision making process seems like, oh I don’t know? Common sense! But that isn’t always the case. Read the rest of this entry »

Britain’s Supreme Court has ruled that homosexuality may be used as a reason for seeking asylum in the United Kingdom. The ruling underscored that the right of a homosexual individual to be themselves or not to have to deny their sexuality is a fundamental right. Read the rest of this entry »

I hoped that State delegate Bob Marshall was an anomaly, but apparently he isn’t. In fact, the newly elected governor is cut from the same homophobic cloth.  By stripping away legal protection for LGBT Virginians.  Its now perfectly legal in governor Bob McDonnell’s Virginia to be fired solely on the basis of your sexual orientation.  Read the rest of this entry »

Antiquated laws are a part of the American political and legal landscape. And for the most part are laughable to the point of absurdity. However in California one antiquated law in particular is no laughing matter.  Unbelievably in this day and age, California still has a law on the books mandating State funded research into finding a cure for homosexuality! It sickens me reading all the absurd opinions wafting out of Hollywood regarding Roman Polanski that attempt to justify his behavior, downplay his actions or to even say that because of his age, the fact that he’s married and has grandchildren hes not a danger. WTF?

Credentials

Some readers may notice that I have edited my information, sadly I have been forced to this decision by personal circumstances.

I’m an attorney licensed in the State of Georgia and have been actively practicing since 1997, exclusively in the area of criminal law. Currently I’m an Assistant District Attorney working in a small rural judicial circuit.

Also, I am profoundly dyslexic (so get past any imperfections in language) and clinically depressed.
