Being a gay or lesbian adult is hard enough facing all the derogatory comments and discriminatory conduct society throws your way. But, imagine what it must be like for gay or lesbian high school students? Now imagine living in the south, the deep rural south of Mississippi. It sickens me reading all the absurd opinions wafting out of Hollywood regarding Roman Polanski that attempt to justify his behavior, downplay his actions or to even say that because of his age, the fact that he’s married and has grandchildren hes not a danger. WTF?
In Louisiana being caught preforming ORAL or ANAL sex is not only a crime, but a felony which upon conviction will also land you on the sex offender’s registry; regardless of whether or not the sex is consensual.
I’m an Assistant District Attorney and I take my job seriously. I relish the responsibility I have in helping to keep my community and State a safer place. In fact many times I zealously cases that I find especially egregious. Something that I feel very strongly about are case involving child molestation, child exploitation and child pornography. But the article below borders on the absurd; a prosecutor using his position to advance a private agenda. Hopefully the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals will see this case for what it is, egregious grandstand by an ambitious and over zealous individual. Read the rest of this entry »
